I will update the review as time and experience dictate but I do not foresee any issues at this point. (I will most likely use the more advanced features in Powerdirector for editing) I have not yet tried the various editing and trimming tools with the program but I am looking forward to spending the entire day tomorrow digitizing all of these precious memories. I also have home videos on VHS C and Hi 8 format, both of which played without a problem. My oldest home video was on a cassette from 1989, which was reproduced on the screen with surprisingly good quality. Both displayed in the player on the laptop and played perfectly. I used the S video ports for the ancient Sony Handycam and the component cables for the equally ancient VHS player.

(This is not to say that the recording is BlueRay quality - keep it mind that it is being recorded from very old VHS tapes but the recording does not lose anything or end up with lower quality than the original VHS.)
